Bear Lake Trip August 2009!!

So it was time for the annual family trip to Bear Lake and it was a ton of fun as usual even if the weather wasn't our friend the entire time! We went for 4 days of fun in the sun on the beach, but mother nature had other plans. The first day was mostly setting up camp and getting everyone setteled in. We had a big campfire that night with everyone and it was a lot of fun. Then we headed to bed where we got no sleep because the people camping next to us thought that 2am was bed time, but there toddler cryed all night long!

Here is Olivia and Amanda enjoying the water on Friday!

Melody, Quinn and Elina on the beach!

Here we are getting ready to head out with Olivia on the Knee tube pulled behind the jet ski! It was a lot of fun for the kids and Olivia was the first one brave enough to try it. Of course I was also the only one willing to ride backwards on the jet ski. Quite an adventure with the waves we had that day!

Olivia is up and going!

Then Elina wanted to ride the knee tube, my little dare devil!

Quinn was having none of the tube he just wanted to ride the jet ski with me. He didn't last long though he hated getting hit with the water from the big waves.

Then of course Amanda had to do the knee tube as well. Hunter and the other boys wanted nothing to do with the tube. Tay was still at Boy Scout Camp so he didn't get the chance to try it, but my dare devil girls loved it!

Josh had fun making castles on the beach!

Zachary even got into the act! He was bound and determined to get to that water!!! Such a doll!

That night in the middle of the night it started raining and it just kept coming down harder and harder. When we got up it was to a full on downpour. The cooking stoves and chairs got left out the night before so we actually cooked breakfast on the campfire after setting up our shade tent over the table and campfire. The girls huddled under the porch on the cabin while we got it up and made the breakfast!

Breakfast in the rain!

It finally stopped raining and just drizzled occasionally but obviously the beach was out of the picture for the day. Half the group left and went to Mintonka Caves and the rest of us found stuff to do to try and entertain the kids. Coloring books, puzzles and candy! The others didn't even get into the cave because it was sold out for the day!

Later the kids played on the playground!

Then the campground had an activity wear the kids could color a t-shirt. They loved it and the t-shirts turned out so cute!

Later that night it was off to the Pickleville Playhouse to see the show. If you are up there you definately cannot miss the show it is the continuation from the show last year and just as entertaining. We all laughed until we cried, it really is that funny! Here are the girls with Sam, Sheriff Rowdy Angus and Juanito Bandito!

Here are the girls with William! This guy was funny and the girls thought the dance he did was hysterical they are still talking about it! Quinn keeps telling me he is "Bandito Bandito" definately his favorite and its to bad he fell asleep before the end or he would have gotten to meet him.

The next day half the group went back to the caves. We rented a surrey bike and me and Olivia pedaled for and hour with Quinn, Josh and Elina along for the ride. It was a lot of fun and a lot of laughs thanks to Olivia. She insisted on driving the second half of the ride and she almost ran us into the road and some sprinklers, but the best was I was almost standing I was pushing so hard on the pedals and couldn't figure out why we were going so slow. I looked over and Olivia had pulled the parking brake on and we had been pedaling that way for a good 15 minutes. It was so funny and boy did I get my workout for the day.

After the bike ride we headed to the park so the kids could play. Then to Bear Lake Pizza for some lunch and some more playing.

Then the cavers met us at Hometown Drive Inn where they ate lunch! We all enjoyed some good Raspberry Shakes and then started the drive home!

All in all it was a great trip. Only regret was that we didn't get to spend near enough time on the water, but there is always next year!
